CONTENTS INSURANCE: DO YOU
HAVE ENOUGH?
CHANCES
ARE You remembered all your big ticket Purchases when deciding how much
contents insurance coverage to buy.
If
you were to lose your home to fire, for example, how much would it cost
to replace all the clothes and shoes in your closet? Can you put a
dollar value on the food in your cupboards and tools in your basement
right now?
Use this list to catalogue the items you may have overlooked, then
check your grand total against the face value of your existing policy.
If your insurance covers it, rest easy. If not, you may want to call
your broker or insurance provider and top up your coverage.

While we recognize this guide will not be complete, it should enable you
to make a list of your
household items and calculate their replacement value.
Remember that if you policy has 'replacement Cost on Contents" this is
the value you should use,
not it's actual cash value (ACV) or depreciated value.
